Brain Games

Do you have a student who has trouble with their "motor"?  They have trouble slowing down and keeping focus for more than a few seconds? Well, I have a few of those kiddos in my room and I was looking for a quiet activity that did not involve the use of technology.  I remembered when I was younger, I loved playing the number puzzles game and I found one at a local craft store in the game bin.  This has been a hit!  Students will sit quietly and persevere until they are able to put the numbers in sequential order.  The time it takes them to complete the task also seems to be about the same amount of time their brain needed to rest.  Win-Win!  The student is having fun, challenging themselves with no other reward than a job well done.  I am going to invest in a classroom set of these for next year.
